CIVIL CEREMONY
A civil service performed in Italy is legally recognized throughout the world. By law, civil weddings must be performed in a City Hall. Foreign citizens are not required to reside in Italy before the wedding date. The ceremony is quite short and is conducted in Italian by the Civil Registrar, however you can personalize your civil wedding ceremony with music, personal vows and readings of your choice. In addition, we will provide an interpreter who will assist you during the ceremony. At the end, you will receive a marriage certificate that you need to register in your country of residence.

CATHOLIC CEREMONY
In Italy, a Catholic wedding can only be performed in a consecrated church and it can be either a Catholic blessing ceremony (the couple is already legally married) or a Catholic wedding with civil validity under the Italian laws.
Specific religious requirements are to be fulfilled several months prior to the wedding and the final approval only depends on the local Diocese. If you are divorced you cannot remarry in a Catholic church until the Rota invalidates the previous marriage formally but you can remarry with a civil ceremony only.

SYMBOLIC CEREMONY
If you want to skip all paperwork and legal formalities a romantic symbolic ceremony is the best way to personalize your vows and exchange rings. A symbolic ceremony can take place almost anywhere and you will be totally free to have your ceremony and reception in the same venue. It can be celebrated by an officiant of your choice or by an English-speaking one that we can recommend. This kind of ceremony does not hold any religious or civil status but many couples choose it simply for the special meaning that it can have for them. 

RENEWAL OF VOWS
The Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremony has no legal effect and is not legally binding on the parties. However, many couples choose Italy to renew their marriage vows and promises because of our country’s beautiful venues and locations that make this event even more romantic, memorable and unique.
